Happy Birthday to Nomi, Happy 1st birthday to you!

 

Here are some pics of Naomi's birthday. I let her have a "cake sample" on her actual birthday, March 28th. And then we had her party the next day where she had home-made chocolate cupcakes! Yummy! We love you so much Naomi! You are a true joy and delight- we praise God for you!

Grab, down to the floor, roll...we're wrestling

Ethan's taken to wrestling. Ever since Nomi started walking, he finds much enjoyment in grabbing her, pulling her (semi-gently) down to the floor, then rolling, and rolling. It's a "nice" sibling wrestling match right now. Ethan has the advantage with height and weight. But Nomi's learning to hold her own too. I think she'll eventually take him down!!

Time-outs are fun?!

What does Ethan do when Josiah puts him in time-out? He grabs a drum magazine and reads! He "studies" them so seriously...it's so funny. We'll see if he's this passionate about drums as he gets older- if he is, watch out world!

Naomi's Birthday Gift

We bought this wooden (weighted in the bottom) walker/stroller for Nomi's bday (along with G&G Donbroski). We intended Nomi to use it to help her walk... but Ethan and Nomi had other ideas. Let's use it as a fun ride! It's pretty hilarious that she can actually push him since he weighs 34# and she's only 1 and 21.5#! She's a strong girl! So, they go back and forth across the living room, giggling and smiling. That makes me happy.

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me HAPPY!!

We took advantage of the sunny, warm day a couple weekends ago to go for a brisk walk with the double stroller! I'm so thankful that at 3 years old, Ethan will still ride. We look for birds and airplanes, play "I spy" and admire God's creation. It's a good time... and now Ethan is obsessed with his sunglasses. Nomi's not sure what to do with hers though! Oh well... in time! Sunshine... on our shoulders... makes us happy. (And helps mom stay sane after being inside ALL winter long!)

Playing Guitar with Papa

Having a musician for a Papa is one of Ethan & Naomi's favorite things! They LOVE the guitar, keyboard, drums, anything musical... they are right there and wanting to play.
Josiah just wrote a new song, so he was playing it for us. The kids were mostly interested in strumming- so sweet. Now if we can just get Nomi to play guitar in the "family band" all will be well!! (If you don't know about the "family band"- according to Ethan- Josiah plays guitar, keys and sings, Ethan plays drums, Nomi plays bass and I'm in charge of making macaroni! Yes, I know, he already knows at 3 that I have no musical ability.)

Prayer Answered!

This is the cutest story that Christal (Josiah's sister) told me today:

This morning Vallerie (the kid's oldest cousin- she's almost 4) wanted to pray for Ethan and Naomi- which is just so sweet. So she prayed to God that we'd have a good
day and that they'd be good.

So, oblivious to this myself, we started our day and all was going smoothly. No timeouts, no major problems. I even commented to Ethan that it was a great day!

This afternoon, Christal told me over Facebook about Val's prayer and asked how the day was going... I just smiled and said, "Thanks God!" And told Christal that Val's prayer had worked and asked, "Can you say that prayer every morning please??!"

We laughed and agreed- every morning, we're praying that one another's kids are good and that we all have a good day! Anyone else want to join the prayer circle? :)
